The Cockatoos shown below were made by "Maddux" in the late 1940s during the last years of Bill's ownership of "Maddux". Some are incised "Wm Maddux" while others are incised "Maddux of California", and some with other markings. We know of one single pink Cockatoo, similar to the one on the left below, that is hand signed: "William Maddux". It presently belongs to a collector in California. I believe the ones hand signed and marked "Wm Maddux" were made during his ownership and the ones with other markings represent continued production under the new owners. The single Cockatoo (left) on the lower branch is the only one of that style we have ever seen.
The Cookie Jars below are a few made under the "Maddux of California" name. This was definitely after Bill was associated with "Maddux" pottery.
